-Cooking oil 2 tbs

-Tamatar (Tomatoes) pureed 2 medium

-Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) ½ tbs

-Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp

-Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) 1 tsp or to taste

-Mong daal (Yellow lentil) ½ Cup (soaked for 1 hour)

-Chana daal (Split bengal gram) 1 & ½ Cup (soaked for 2 hours)

-Water 4 Cups

-Himalayan pink salt 1 & ½ tsp or to taste

Prepare Tadka:

-Cooking oil 4-5 tbs

-Lehsan (Garlic) sliced 4-5 cloves

-Sabut lal mirch (Button red chillies) 5-6

-Sukhi lal mirch (Dried red chillies) 4-5

-Lal mirch (Red chilli) crushed 1 tsp

-Cinnamon stick 1 large



-In a clay pot,add cooking oil & heat it.

-Add pureed tomatoes,ginger garlic paste,mix well & cook on medium flame for 1-2 minutes.

-Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,mix well & cook for 2-3 minutes.

-Add yellow lentil,split bengal gram & mix well.

-Add water,mix well & bring it to boil,cover & cook on low flame until lentils are tender (20-25 minutes),check in between & add water if required.

-Add pink salt,mix well & let it cool until desired consistency.

Prepare Tadka:

-In a frying pan,add cooking oil & heat it.

-Add garlic & fry for a minute.

-Add button red chillies,dried red chillies,red chilli crushed & mix well.

-Now pour tarka on prepared daal & mix gently.

-Burn a cinnamon stick on open flame & add in prepared daal,cover & give smoke for 2-3 minutes.

-Serve fire tadka daal with boiled rice!
