Steamed Spinach Egg

Easy, healthy and appetizing steamed spinach egg recipe to try this weekend.

Prepare Soy Dipping Sauce:

-Hara pyaz (Spring onion) leaves chopped 2 tbs

-Lehsan (Garlic) chopped ½ tbs

-Lal mirch (Red chilli) crushed ½ tsp

-Namak (Salt) 1 pinch or to taste

-Safed til (Sesame seeds) ½ tsp

-Sirka (Vinegar) 1 & ½ tbs

-Soy sauce 3 tbs

-Til ka tel (Sesame oil) 1 & ½ tsp

Prepare Steamed Spinach Egg:

-Palak (Spinach) washed 250g

-Boiling water

-Anday (Eggs) 5-6

-Namak (Salt) ¼ tsp or to taste

-Kali mirch powder (Black pepper powder) ¼ tsp or to taste

-Cornflour 1 & ½ tbs

-Til ka tel (Sesame oil) 1 & ½ tsp



Prepare Soy Dipping Sauce:

-In a bowl,add spring onion,garlic,red chilli crushed,salt,sesame seeds,vinegar,soy sauce,sesame oil, mix well & set aside.

Prepare Steamed Spinach Egg:

-Finely chop spinach leaves with the help of knife (approx. 1 & ½ Cup).

-In boiling water,add spinach & blanch for 2-3 minutes,strain,rinse with cold water & set aside.

-In a jug,add eggs,salt,black pepper powder,cornflour,sesame olive & whisk well.

-Add blanched spinach,mix well & set aside.

-Grease baking dish with oil,pour prepared batter,cover with cling film & prick with skewer.

-In cooking pot,boil water,place steam rack & baking dish,cover & steam cook on medium low flame for 30 minutes or until wooden skewer comes out clean.

-Takeout dish from steam pot & let it rest for 5 minutes.

-Cut into slices & serve with prepared soy dipping sauce!
